In fairness I should add that there will always be some compromise.

I mean, when Erica goes to dinner with someone of course the avatars aren't together and there's no food to consume. But the aim of the RP-game is to get as close to the reality as possible imho. I travel to the dinner location, and insist the other character do the same, dock in the same station, I create a channel for the restaurant, I purchase and trade a bottle of Spiced Wine when we drink it, etc.

The majority of RPers don't go to that length. A typical dinner date would see one character in xxx system, the other in xxx system half way across New Eden. They don't meet, they don't exchange items, the dinner is 100% fictional with no ingame basis. *grimace* hrrmmm I just can't do that. Feels too superficial. I have never compromised on that and will always insist on doing my best to make the events actually happen ingame, and if people want to RP with my characters I insist they meet me half way.

It adds soooo much to the RP.

It becomes believable, immersive, feels more realistic. You get out what you put into your RP.

In my case the only compromise I ever made with Erica's storyline is her State Navy modelling contract because of course that never happened, though I do have ingame events abstractly close enough in her past to be able to feel good enough to say she is a State model without feeling like I've 100% made it up. And in her life today everything has to have a solid ingame foundation or it didn't happen. Nothing irks me more than characters who claim to be a freaking Admiral, famous pirate, bloodthirstly murderer when they're 1 month old and running missions still. Those kinds of characters are everywhere. Errhhggg.

And I dislike that because they then demand your character respects them as such.

In the case of the autopsy, it's way too much compromise for it to be acceptable/believable in my personal opinion. And I won't respect it lol But that's just me.

Spent a couple of hours visiting the moons around Kerbin, adjusting orbits, collecting lots of science and space walking at each location to collect the data; only to fall short of fuel to return home by 3 seconds.

Poor Jebediah is now is orbit around Kerbin with no way home. Looks like tomorrow will be a rescue mission if I can get an alternative ship up there so he can EVA from his stricken craft to another one and then return home. That, or I'll just leave him up there to die and quietly abandon the mission from the tracking centre. Rescue sounds more interesting though.
